Over 10 years Flying Experience

Our story Great Ocean Helicopters Hervey Bay is the love-child of Nathan and Aimee; A kiwi & a Ballarat girl turned Queenslanders during the covid pandemic 2020.

But first let’s rewind a few years- Nathan obtained his pilots license 10 years ago but only flying in his time off from FIFO mining, whilst Aimee worked full time in Ballarat.

Nathan got his appetite for flying first mustering in the Northern Territory then in Apollo Bay Victoria, doing tourist scenic flights around the Region.

It was a chance date that brought their worlds together! It was after this experience we decided to follow this passion & start our own business in January 2020, but little did we know Covid 19 was just around the corner.

We purchased our Yellow Helicopter (Affectionately called the Yellow Taxi) and had it parked in the front yard of our country property in Victoria for over 3months.

We had to make a quick business decision and thought heck we either have to sell up or move north .. the decision wasn’t easy leaving family & friends behind but we wanted to give this dream a go.

Well, we’ve got everything from country, to coast, to the world-heritage-listed natural wonders of Fraser Island, all right here in our backyard. We’re committed to bringing our fellow co-pilots (you guys!) a unique, personalised experience – allowing you to select one of our pre-planned

Hervey Bay and Fraser Island helicopter flights, or tailor your own flight to fit in all of your favourite spots across the Fraser Coast!

As new additions to the slice of paradise that is Hervey Bay, we have a great passion for celebrating its beauty with locals and travelers alike, and bringing smiles to as many faces as we can along the way.
