Over 10 years Flying Experience

Our story Great Ocean Helicopters Hervey Bay is the love-child of Nathan and Aimee; A kiwi & a Ballarat girl turned Queenslanders during the covid pandemic 2020.
But first let's rewind a few years- Nathan obtained his pilots license 10 years ago but only flying in his time off from FIFO mining, whilst Aimee worked full time in Ballarat.
Nathan got his appetite for flying first mustering in the Northern Territory then in Apollo Bay Victoria, doing tourist scenic flights around the Region.

It was a chance date that brought their worlds together! It was after this experience we decided to follow this passion & start our own business in January 2020, but little did we know Covid 19 was just around the corner.

We purchased our Yellow Helicopter (Affectionately called the Yellow Taxi) and had it parked in the front yard of our country property in Victoria for over 3months.

We had to make a quick business decision and thought heck we either have to sell up or move north .. the decision wasn't easy leaving family & friends behind but we wanted to give this dream a go.

Even though it was a windy day, the flight was very enjoyable. The views were fantastic! We did the 15-minute flight which was great value for money - got to fly out to Fraser, and back via the coast. Aimee and Nathan were very friendly and accommodating with booking times, and even called to let us know they were running a little behind schedule to make sure we didn't arrive too early. Would highly recommend it!

A must do . Fantastic flight, 30 mimutes over Fraser island and around to see the area. Covers most of Frazer ( it's big ) and Nathan gives great commentary. Cost is very reasonable but lash out you will have great memories and photos. If never been in a helicopter before just do it wonderful experience
